A satin gown built around one detail: the pleated bust. Fine folds radiate out from the centre of a deep V neckline into structured cups, so the bodice holds its shape instead of collapsing the way a plain slip does. Fine spaghetti straps cross into an open back, the body falls straight and fluid to the ankle, and a slit opens high on the thigh.

Size guide — US inches

Garment measurements taken flat and converted to inches — not body measurements. This fabric has stretch, so the bust, waist and hip figures are given as a range from relaxed to stretched. Aim for the middle of the range for a comfortable fit.

Length is measured from the top of the bodice, not from the shoulder. At 42–44 inches it falls around the ankle on someone about 5'5", and closer to mid-calf if you are taller. Plan on a heel if you want the floor-length look.

Sizing runs small. This is cut to an Asian size standard, roughly one to two sizes under US sizing. If you are between sizes, or want any ease through the bust, take the next size up. Allow about 1 inch of variance from hand measurement.
